GHiX uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies (like local storage). This page lists exactly what we use, what each one does, and how long it lasts. For how we handle your personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
Strictly necessary
These keep the product working and signed in. They don't need your consent because they're essential to a service you've asked for, but we tell you about them anyway.

Analytics
- PostHog (product analytics, EU region): may set a cookie or use local storage to recognise your browser across pageviews, so we can understand how the product is used and improve it. It is not used for advertising, we do not build cross-site advertising profiles from it, and it is not sold or shared with data brokers. Signed-out visitors are tracked anonymously; we link analytics to your account only once you're signed in.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run cross-site tracking.
In our emails
Email is the other place a "similar technology" shows up, so it belongs on this page even though no cookie is involved.
Email you can switch off, such as the weekly digest or an announcement, contains one invisible 1x1 image loaded from links.news.gethiredinx.com. When your email app loads images, that request tells us the message was opened and roughly when, and it shows us the IP address and email app that loaded it. Links in that email are also rewritten through the same domain so we can count which ones were clicked. This is how open and click rates work in every email tool; there is no other method.
Email you cannot switch off is not tracked at all. Verification emails, password resets, security notices, account notices and billing receipts are sent from a different domain, send.gethiredinx.com, which has open tracking switched off entirely. No pixel is added to them. We think recording when somebody read a security warning about their own account would be the wrong thing to do.
One thing worth knowing about the numbers: Apple Mail Privacy Protection, which is on for many Apple users, fetches the image through Apple's servers as soon as the mail arrives. When that happens we record an open that may never have involved a person, and we see Apple's IP address rather than yours.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, most browsers let you do this per-site. Blocking the essential session cookie will sign you out and may stop the product from working.
- To stop email open tracking, either turn off automatic image loading in your email app, which means the pixel never loads and nothing is recorded, or unsubscribe from optional email using the link at the bottom of any of it. Unsubscribing stops us sending it, so there is nothing left to track.
- Because we don't run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, there's nothing to opt out of beyond the analytics above.
- If we ever introduce a cookie that isn't strictly necessary and isn't the analytics use above (for example, advertising), we will update this page and show you a proper consent choice before it's set, not just a notice.
Changes
We will update this page whenever the cookies we use change, and revise the "last updated" date above.
